A 56-year old man crossing an Ontario Street recently was killed after being hit by an SUV.

A news report indicates that the man, who had been driving a big-rig, stopped, parked his truck and attempted to cross the street at an intersection with a two-way stop sign when the accident happened.

California Vehicle Code Section 21950 states, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.”  It continues with, “The driver of a vehicle approaching a pedestrian within any marked or unmarked crosswalk shall exercise all due care and shall reduce the speed of a vehicle or take any other action relating to the operating of the vehicle as necessary to safeguard the safety of the pedestrian.”

The 56-year old man was taken to a local hospital where he died several days later.  The accident is under investigation to determine why this man was struck and killed.  If it is determined that the driver did not stop at the stop sign or failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrian, he or she can be held liable for the man’s wrongful death.

Mid-day traffic became a nightmare on the eastbound Interstate 10 in Ontario the other day.

Several people were injured when a major accident took place involving six vehicles.  It blocked three lanes.  Two people were trapped in one of the vehicles and needed assistance getting out.  Two people were taken to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

CHP officials are investigating to determine what caused this horrendous accident that injured several individuals.

If you are involved in an accident and are injured, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will discuss your options with you and see if you are entitled to compensation for your injuries and medical expenses.

A multi-car accident in Ontario the other night left a 39-year old man critically injured. Apparently a man speed south on Haven Avenue rear-ended one vehicle and then crashed into three more vehicles.

The driver was transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment of his injuries.  The accident caused three other people to be taken to local hospitals where they were treated and released the next day.

The Ontario Police Department are investigating what caused this man to collide with four vehicles; they do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor; however, he may have a medical condition that caused him to crash into these vehicles.  I would suggest that the injured parties contact an experienced San Bernardino County Personal Injury attorney to discuss their options – to see if they can be compensated for their medical expenses.

The families in Moreno Valley are grieving the loss of their popular assistant football coach and his family.  The coach and his family died recently when their car exploded into flames on the 15 Freeway in Ontario after being wedged between two trucks.  The family of four was on their way to get pizza.

According to California Highway Patrol, six vehicles were involved in the accident.  No one else was injured.  The cause of this fatal accident is being investigated.  My sympathies go out to the family and friends of these victims.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin recently reported that a 22-year old man was critically injured when a car hit him on March 28 at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Oaks Avenue in Ontario.  The driver of that car left the scene without stopping.  He was lying in the road when police arrived.

Police believe the man might have gotten into an argument with the other driver while at the intersection.  They are investigating whether the driver deliberately hit the man.  Police are asking anyone who witnessed this accident to contact them at 909-986-6711.

Leaving the scene of an accident is a serious crime in California; the driver should have remained until the police arrived.  According to California Vehicle Code Section 20001, “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”

A very popular High School football coach and his family were the victims of a fatal accident recently.  According to California Highway Patrol, the coach’s car became wedged between two tractor-trailers and burst into flames on the southbound 15 Freeway in Ontario.  This incident caused a six-car pileup and minor injuries to others.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
