Fans all over San Bernardino were gathering this past weekend to watch the Super Bowl game.  They were gathered with friends, had plenty to eat and some too much to drink.

They were set for a fun afternoon and evening watching their favorite sport.  Some did not think about the possible consequences when it came time to drive home.

However, San Bernardino County law enforcement knew the possibilities; they were out and about throughout San Bernardino County looking for drunk drivers and ready to get them off the roads.

Although Super Bowl Sunday is a day for lots of fun among friends and family, it has also become one of the leading causes of car accidents in San Bernardino County.

Alcohol-related accidents are inexcusable because they could have been prevented by not driving while intoxicated.

If you have been injured in a drunk driver accident, your well-being should come first and your legal rights next.  Contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will aggressively pursue the drunk driver who injured you, an innocent person.  And, for next year, remember:  Fans do not let other fans drive drunk.

The trucker tried to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so.  The impact caused the truck to overturn on the shoulder and roll down an embankment, killing the 66-year old big-rig driver.

According to California Vehicle Code Section 21658(a), “Whenever a roadway has been divided into two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction the vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.”

A driver crossed into the path of a motorcycle at an intersection the other day – killing the 25-year old Hesperia man after he was thrown from the bike.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.  The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment.  The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating to determine why this fatal accident took place.

California law says that a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if his or her blood alcohol content is .08% or higher.  This applies to the use of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, or even prescription drugs.  A driver who drives drunk is considered negligent; he or she chooses to put other drivers at risk.

The bottom line is intoxication by any means can cause accidents and severe personal injuries.  Motorists and pedestrians injured by intoxicated drivers have legal rights against the negligent driver and oftentimes the establishment that served the drunk driver the alcohol.

A drunk-driving accident can cause emotional trauma to you.  If you are a victim of a drunk driver, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will aggressively pursue compensation for your injuries.
