A 24-year old woman trying to cross the street in Ontario the other evening was injured by a hit-and-run driver.
Reports indicate that the woman was not crossing in a crosswalk when the accident occurred. Pedestrians are always urged to use a crosswalk, especially when crossing a busy street; they are jeopardizing their safety when they do not.
California Vehicle Code Section 21954 states, “Every pedestrian upon a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway so near as to constitute an immediate hazard.”
She was taken to a nearby hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
If you have been injured in a pedestrian accident while crossing outside a crosswalk, you may still be able to receive compensation for your injuries from the careless driver. Contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who can discuss your legal options with you.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department, a 19-year old Adelanto woman lost control of her vehicle in the early afternoon last week while driving in Victorville.
She and her male passenger were ejected when the vehicle hit a guardrail, causing it to flip into a ditch and land on the roof; she is in critical condition.
It is unknown what caused the young woman to lose control of her vehicle. The Sheriff’s department is investigating. I would suggest the passenger contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to see if he can be compensated for his injuries and expenses.

Those that witnessed the accident told police that the man turned left in front of the automobile. The man was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.
I feel badly for this man and wish him a speedy recovery.
