A 25-year old man was killed the other night when he was a passenger in a vehicle that hit a tree and rolled over in Pomona.
The Coroner’s office reported that he was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. The 24-year old driver fled the scene on foot, but turned himself in at the Pomona Police Department later that day.
The driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter. He is being held on $50,000 bail. It has not been determined if he was driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
I urge them to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to see if they are entitled to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver in order to be compensated for their tragic loss and any expenses incurred because of his negligent actions.

Over the long Memorial Day weekend, the California Highway Patrol in the Morongo Basin arrested six people for driving under the influence – only one arrest contributed to a minor injury, which involved a rollover collision.
The accident took place on southbound Morongo Road where a 19-year old driver, was driving her Dodge pickup. The truck made its way to the dirt shoulder and when driver tried to get back on the road, the truck rolled over. After complaining of neck and back pain, she was taken to the Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.
Total arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs for the holiday weekend in San Bernardino County amounted to 196 – two deaths were attributed to drunk driving. The San Bernardino Police Department and the California Highway Patrol are investigating.
