The other morning did not start off well for commuters traveling on the southbound Interstate 15 in Devore.

A major traffic jam occurred when a big-rig caught fire, igniting a nearby brush.  The incident closed down two lanes for several hours, causing traffic to back up for several miles.  San Bernardino County firefighters put the flames out.

Officials are investigating to determine why the big-rig caught fire.  The good news is that no one was injured – this was very lucky for the commuters traveling this road.  If you are injured because of a fire caused by a big-rig or any other vehicle, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate your case to determine if you can file a lawsuit for damages, injuries and medical expenses.

Highway 38 in San Bernardino County will remain closed for a few days while hazardous materials crews clean up dirt contaminated by a 7,000-gallon fuel spill.

Reports indicate that a tractor-trailer carrying close to 10,000 gallons of fuel overturned and ruptured, spilling fuel all over the road and surrounding areas.  The HazMat team was able to siphon several thousands of fuel, but approximately 4,000 gallons seeped about 20 feet into the ground – causing fumes to rise into the air.  Firefighters placed foam on top of the area to keep the fumes from rising.

Officials are investigating to determine what caused the tractor-trailer to overturn - leaving fuel and fumes in the area.  Spilled hazardous materials form an overturned truck may cause, not only severe injuries to an individual involved in an accident, but they also pose a severe risk of environmental and property damage to the surrounding area.

If you are injured because of a hazardous oil spill, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has dealt with cases involving hazardous materials and will discuss your potential rights concerning your personal injury or property damage.

When an individual is involved in a car accident, he or she could be seriously injured.  Just imagine the outcome when that individual is involved in a truck accident that weighs more than ten times the amount of an automobile.  Did you know that there is a truck accident every 20 minutes or less in the United States?

The amount of truck accidents in California is on the rise.  Companies are hiring drivers that are overworked or exhausted from long hauls.  There are cases when trucking companies do not have the money to make sure the trucks are in good working conditions and a driver will leave with faulty parts in his or her truck.

Are you aware that some truckers work over 12 hours a day?  Some take drugs to stay awake, which can cause them to lose control of the vehicle.

If you are involved in an accident with a truck, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in truck-related accidents to see if you are entitled to compensation for your injuries, damages and expenses.

A 53-year old big-rig driver from Adelanto was killed when his truck hit a concrete pillar on Highway 99 in Fresno recently.

A 41-year old passenger suffered minor injuries.  Investigators are trying to determine what caused this man’s death; it appears he did not die from injuries sustained from the accident.

The impact caused a fuel tank on the big-rig to rupture and leak fuel on the shoulder of the road.  The road was closed for more than two hours while the fuel was cleaned up.

If you are a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in an accident and you are injured, you would be wise to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will determine if you are entitled to compensation for your injuries and medical

Those heading to work in Apple Valley the other morning on the southbound Interstate 15 were probably late.  Two big-rigs crashed and burst into flames, closing part of the freeway for most of the morning to put out the fire.

According to the California Highway Patrol, one of the big-rigs was pulled onto the right  for a new driver to take the next shift. Apparently, a second tractor trailer drifted onto the shoulder and crashed into the first one.

A driver in the stopped big-rig suffered cuts to his hands and feet.  There were no other injuries reported; however, both big-rigs were destroyed in the fire.

CHP officers are investigating to determine what caused the second big-rig to drift off the freeway and strike the first one.  The first driver should contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who is familiar with big-rig accidents.  Depending on the results of the investigation, he may be entitled to compensation for his injuries and medical expenses.

Two people were killed in an accident involving a big-rig in the San Bernardino desert near Red Mountain Road recently.

The 31-year old woman from Long Beach was traveling north on Highway 395.  Also killed was the 49-year old trucker, also from Long Beach.  According to California Highway Patrol officers, neither were wearing their seat belts.  A 27-year old survivor from Texas was flown to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries.

It was reported that the big-rig ran off the road, spilling more than 2,000 gallons of used motor oil that it was carrying.  The fatal accident is under investigation to determine what caused this to happen.

Once investigators determine what happened, I urge the families to contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who is skilled in trucking accidents to see if they are entitled to compensation for their loss, expenses and pain and suffering.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s office reported that a 49-year old motorcyclist who was involved in a big-rig accident at the beginning of this month, died from the injuries he sustained at that time.

The motorcyclist was driving west at the time and the big-rig was driving towards him in the opposite lanes.  According to reports, the truck made a left-hand turn in front of the motorcyclist, causing the motorcyclist to crash into the truck.

The incident is under investigation by the San Bernardino Police Department.  If a family member was involved in an accident with a big-rig and sustained injuries or died, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who is familiar with big-rig accident cases – one that will investigate and fight for the rights of the victim.

The work week began with a tractor-trailer hauling 40,000 pounds of meat - it overturned on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.

Apparently the big-rig’s brakes heated up and when the driver tried to exit the freeway, the truck began to slide sideways.  The truck crashed into a curb, causing the meat to shift, which caused the big-rig to overturn on its right side – spilling boxes of meat onto the road.

It is not known if the accident was a result of rain and snowy conditions that the Inland Empire has received.  Interstate 15, through the Cajon Pass, was under California Highway Patrol escort due to light snow that day.  The bad weather has caused all kinds of accidents on area roads.

The driver was not injured.

According to the National Weather Service, two more storms will move through this area during the week.  I urge all motorists to proceed with caution and with no distractions while on the slippery roads.  If you are involved in an accident due to bad weather conditions or because another driver was not paying attention, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate for you and make sure you are compensated for your injuries and expenses.

A truck towing a trailer stopped at the Yermo agricultural inspection station to be inspected. A woman inspector had just finished inspecting the truck and gave permission for it to move on.

For no apparent reason, she stepped into the path of the trailer as it was preparing to leave the station, and was hit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of the truck stopped after hitting the victim.  The employee was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.

California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine why the employee stepped in the path of the truck and trailer.  Depending on who was at fault, I suggest the two parties involved contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to make sure his or her rights are protected.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a fatal accident on Interstate 40 in the Mojave Desert last week. Apparently a big-rig overturned in the center divider close to midnight.

The accident killed one person and critically injured another.  No other details are available; however, the accident is under investigation at this time.

I hope the injured person has a speedy recovery.  Contacting an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney can help speed up the investigation and determine if the families and individuals are entitled to compensation for their expenses
