Another medicine is under alert.  After taking Pradaxa, the FDA reported that 25 people are dead and almost one thousand people have complained of serious complications – half requiring hospitalization.  However, the drug has not been recalled yet.

Pradaxa is used to help patients who have a higher risk of stroke.  It is used to prevent blood clots in patients who have undergone surgery.  Apparently, the side effects outweigh the benefits for those who use it.   Side effects include internal and gastrointestinal bleeding, plus internal hemorrhaging.

If you or a loved one has been taking Pradaxa and have experienced any of the side effects, contact your doctor immediately and then consult with a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who is successful in defending product liability cases.

If you are driving a light truck, this may concern you.

Multistrada Arah Sarana is recalling more than 36,000 16-inch light truck tires sold under the name of Archilles Desert Hawk and Radar Radial RLT-9, because of sidewall defects that can cause the tire to lose air.  If this occurs, the risk of crashing is increased.

The Radar tires have a defective sidewall design that can cause tread separation to occur.

According to reports from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the tires could lose air suddenly, without any warning.

If you own these tires and have suffered injuries because of them, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in product liability cases and will advise you of your legal options and rights.

The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Toy Truck Gifts, which were sold at Kohl’s stores between February and March 2012, are being recalled for a potential fire hazard.

Kohl’s gave away approximately 9,000 trucks with the purchase of a Happy Shirts Co. boy’s tee shirt for about $20. Reports indicate that connections in the truck’s battery compartment can cause the truck to catch on fire, posing a fire and burn hazard to the consumer.

The Happy Shirts Co. has received one report of a toy truck catching on fire and three reports of toy trucks smoldering when the batteries were inserted. However, no injuries were sustained.

The recall involves Big Movers four-inch long blue trucks with oversized tires and a flashing light on top that were given away with the purchase of a Big Movers tee shirt. Happy Shirts Co is offering a refund to anyone who has one of these trucks.

If your child has been injured after playing with one of these trucks, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate your case to determine if you are entitled to compensation for your child’s injuries and medical expenses.

It is important to have four good tires on your vehicle; they are critical to the safe operation of that vehicle.  What happens when your tires have a defect?

There are numerous cases of tread coming off a tire through no fault of the driver.  When this occurs, it can be the result of a defect in the material or in the actual manufacturing of the tire.  The tread is on the outside of the tire; it meets the roadway.  When tread separation happens, the outer tread peels off the tire, leaving it bare and exposed to the elements.  When the vehicle is traveling at a high speed on the freeway, the driver will feel a sudden lurch to the side; he or she will not be able to keep the vehicle on the roadway.  An accident will occur.

If you have been injured because your tire had tread separation, there was probably very little you could have done to prevent an accident.  This is one of the most serious situations you can face.  If this has happened to you, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has experience holding manufacturers accountable for products that put consumers at risk.

Nissan has issued a recall for approximately 23,000 Quest minivans manufactured from July 2010 through February 2012 due to a fuel delivery problem that could cause the vehicle to stall.

The problem could appear when the vehicle has less than a quarter of a tank of gas and is driven downhill at low speeds.  Nissan dealers will reprogram the fuel pump control module to correct the possible problem.

In addition, Nissan is recalling approximately 5,700 2003 through 2005 Infiniti Q45 luxury sedans to correct a problem with excess resistance in the airbag wiring that could possibly prevent the side curtain airbags from deploying.

If not fixed or replaced, these vehicle defects could cause catastrophic injuries or death.   If you have one of these vehicles, you could be facing serious danger if you suddenly stall on a freeway.  If you have been injured because of an auto defect, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in product defect cases and who will fight for your legal rights.

Subaru has announced a recall for approximately four hundred 2012 Legacy and Outback vehicles, due to a potential airbag defect. The vehicles were manufactured in December 2011.

Consumer Reports indicated that the defective side curtain airbags may fail to deploy during an impact, increasing the risk of injury to drivers and passengers in an accident.

Side airbags are supposed to protect individuals involved in broadside or T-bone accidents – accidents that occur at an intersection of if a driver runs a red light or does not yield the right-of-way.

Side curtain airbags offer much-needed additional protection to an individual in a broadside accident.  When they fail to deploy, the results can be catastrophic.

If you have one of these vehicles, Subaru dealers will replace them at no cost to you.  If you have one of these vehicles and are injured because the airbag did not deploy, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in automobile product liability cases.  You may be entitled to compensation for your injuries, medical bills and other accident-related expenses.

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for more than 500 2012 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles because of faulty welds in the head restraint support brackets for the second-row right-hand seats.

According to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #22, the defect is a violation and must be repaired or replaced.  The defect could result in the head restraint failing to provide adequate support in the event of a crash.  Standard #22 reads, “Proper head restraints must limit rearward displacement of a seated occupant’s head relative to the occupant’s torso and reduce the frequency and severity of neck injuries in rear-end and other collisions.”  The defect increases the risk of serious injuries, including traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.

If you or a family member has been seriously injured due to a defect in your vehicle, I would suggest you contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has experience in defending product liability cases against automakers.

Consumers are injured every day by harmful products or the effects of one.

People use hazardous products all the time without the knowledge of the dangers they may possess.  Faulty products can lead to bodily injury – even death.  Examples include defective tires, malfunctioning safety features in a car, such as airbags, and toys with lead paint.

A manufacturer can be held liable if they fail to practice regular care in the product, design or assembly of their products.

If you have suffered injury caused by a defective product, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney with experience in product liability cases – one who will fight for your rights.  Anyone who is a victim of a dangerous or faulty product may be awarded compensation from the manufacturer or seller of that product.
