A driver crossed into the path of a motorcycle at an intersection the other day – killing the 25-year old Hesperia man after he was thrown from the bike.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.  The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment.  The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating to determine why this fatal accident took place.

According to the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration, thousands of people are injured and killed each year as a result of motorcycle accidents.  The chances of a motorcyclist being killed are much higher than those of an occupant in an automobile.

If the driver of the car is found to be at fault for this young man’s death, the relatives of this man should contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney and file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver.

Riding a motorcycle is more difficult than driving a car because of the fact that you are only on two wheels and have nothing to protect you in case of an accident.  Riding a motorcycle becomes even more difficult when you have to deal with adverse conditions, such as heavy rain.

Back in 2007 a San Bernardino woman sued the County of San Bernardino when she was injured in a motorcycle accident and sustained major head and neck injuries – after heavy rains.

Bad weather may have led to her motorcycle accident.  She blamed the accident on dangerous road conditions.  At the time of the accident heavy rains had washed out part of the road, leaving a dangerous trench.  The crash occurred before road crews were able to make repairs.

A fact to remember:  When it is raining, you have much less traction when you are riding on roadways that are covered with water. Reports indicate that you have only two tires to make contact with the road and your motorcycle weighs much less than an average automobile, giving you less pressure on the tires to make contact with the road.

An accident involving a motorcycle usually results in a severe injury and sometimes death.  If you have suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident, it is important that you seek medical attention and the legal advice of an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will explain the process, what you are facing and your next steps in moving forward.

A 36-year old motorcyclist entering the on-ramp to the Interstate 10 freeway in Fontana lost control and collided with the rear wheels of a big-rig, which was also on the on-ramp to the freeway.

The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.  The big-rig driver was not injured.  The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident to determine why this happened.

If you or a loved one has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident due to the negligence of another driver, you need to contact an attorney who has the knowledge and experience to get the best possible results.

Nov 02

A 36-year old man riding his motorcycle on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway in Fontana the other night lost control and crashed into the back of a big-rig tractor trailer.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of this fatal accident.  They are checking to see if the motorcyclist was speeding or if the motorcycle had a mechanical malfunction.  In addition, they are checking to see if the big-rig driver could have been at fault.

I would suggest that the family of the motorcyclist consult with an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney about the possibility of filing a wrongful death lawsuit because if the big-rig driver is found to be at fault, he and/or his employer could be held liable for compensation of medical and funeral expenses.

According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office, a 25-year old Fontana man died in the early hours in an accident in Victorville.

Apparently he had lost control of his motorcycle while going around a curve in the road and was ejected from his seat, causing his body to end up quite a distance away from the accident.

Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.  He was wearing a helmet but no other safety gear.  The Sheriff’s Department is investigating to determine what caused this young man to lose control of his motorcycle.

If the investigation determines a mechanical failure of some sort, his family should contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to see if they can file a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the motorcycle or whatever equipment failed him. They may be entitled to compensation for their tragic loss plus any expenses incurred.

A 65-year old Hesperia woman on a motorcycle was struck and killed by a vehicle when the driver ran a stop sign in Big Bear City.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The fatal accident happened at an intersection when the driver of the vehicle drove through a stop sign without yielding the right-of-way to the woman.  California Vehicle Code Section 21801(a) states, “The driver of any vehicle approaching a stop sign at the entrance to, or within, an intersection shall stop as required by Section 22450.  The driver shall then yield the right-of-way to any vehicles which have approached from another highway, or which are approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to those vehicles until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety.”

The accident is under investigation to determine if the driver was distracted, speeding or just simply negligent.  If the driver is found to be at fault, he can be held civilly liable for the woman’s wrongful death.  It would be wise for the family of the victim to consult with an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney to seek compensation for all expenses and the loss of their family member.

A 37-year old motorcyclist from Pomona was killed on the 57 Freeway when his bike was struck by another vehicle.

A 34-year old Chino Hills driver was driving in the #1 lane when for unknown reasons she moved to the left lane and collided with the motorcyclist. They were both traveling at 70 mph.  The impact caused the motorcycle to go over the center divider wall.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the crash scene.  The other driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police are investigating to determine what caused her to collide into the motorcyclist.  If you or a family member is involved in an accident and get injured, or worse, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will take immediate action to ensure that you receive compensation for your injuries and expenses.

The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department reported that a 21-year old U. S. Marine was killed in a motorcycle accident the other day.

The report said he lost control of his motorcycle causing it to go off the road and into a cement and boulder wash.  Unfortunately, wearing his helmet did not save his life.  He was taken by air to a nearby medical center with major injuries; he died a few hours later.

How sad to be a U. S. Marine serving his country and then dying in a motorcycle accident.

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fatal accident.  Perhaps something went wrong with the mechanics of the bike.  If the investigation determines that something was faulty, his family should seek the advice of an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney – they may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit and at least be compensated for their loss.

San Bernardino Sheriff Deputies were led on a motorcycle chase over the weekend after discovering the motorcycle had been stolen in Loma Linda two months ago.

Two San Bernardino men, ages 29 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property.  The 29-year old was held on suspicion of felony evading.

The 29-year old driver who was riding at speeds of 60 mph ran stop signs and red lights.

The driver left the motorcycle on a street and both men ran; they were caught by deputies soon after.

It was a miracle that no one was injured during this chase.  If you are injured by a motorcycle driving at high speeds, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate the incident for you and determine if you are entitled to compensation for your injuries, damages and expenses.

Mar 18

A 40-year old Hesperia man riding his motorcycle in the early evening hours near Interstate 215 in Colton collided with a utility truck.

Reports indicate that the motorcyclist was attempting to pass the truck on the right when the accident took place.  He was run over by the front and back wheels.  The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died less than an hour later.

There is always potential for conflict whenever a vehicle passes another, especially when one of the vehicles is a motorcycle.  It’s something motorists do routinely and rarely think twice about it.  California Vehicle Code Section 21754 states in part, “The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass to the right of another vehicle only when the vehicle overtaken is making or about to make a left turn or on a one-way street.”

The accident is under investigation to determine what happened and who was at fault. Was the truck making a left turn?

I urge them to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who can investigate further for them and determine if they are entitled to compensation for their loss and expenses.
