A motorcyclist on the road faces increased risk levels when driving. Motorcyclists are relatively unprotected in the case of an accident versus a driver in an automobile. Many vehicle drivers do not always yield the right of way to a motorcycle.
According to Victorville Sheriff’s officials, a 65-year old motorcyclist was killed after he was hit by a pickup truck the other evening. The fatal accident occurred when the pickup truck pulled out in front of the motorcycle to make a left-hand turn. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
While there are many accidents caused by a motorcycle rider, there are many that are caused by other drivers. Motorcyclists often sustain severe injuries, including death – such as this motorcyclist.
The San Bernardino Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into why this fatal accident happened.
It would be wise for the family of this 65-year old man to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney in order to determine if they can file a wrongful death lawsuit and be compensated for their loss, including expenses, pain and suffering and emotional damages.

A car chase that began in Pomona with speeds as high as 90 mph the other night ended in Fontana when a police dog bit a suspected 25-year old drunken driver.
When the suspect finally stopped his vehicle and officers approached him, he refused to show his hands, made aggressive movements and shouted obscenities at the officers. It was at that time that the officers released the police dog that ended up biting the suspect and pulling him out of the car. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The suspect was then arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, felony evading and resisting arrest.
Even though these circumstances were different from those surrounding your average dog bite incident, if you are bitten and injured by a dog, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will investigate your case to determine if you can collect compensation for your injuries, expenses and pain and suffering.

If you are an avid motorcyclist, you know using motorcycle safety equipment can not only protect you, but it can save your life.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, head injuries are the number one cause of death during motorcycle accidents. Invest in safety equipment and protect yourself:
· Wearing a protective helmet can reduce your chance of being killed and protect you from future harm.
· Glasses designed for motorcyclists can obstruct the sun from blocking your vision. It can also prevent road debris from getting into your eyes.
· Even though the temperatures get hot in San Bernardino County, wearing a leather jacket protects you from bodily injuries to your chest, back and arms.
· Wearing gloves will protect your hands in the event of an accident.
· A motorcyclist who wears thick, leather boots will protect his or her feet from road debris and from burning their ankles and feet on their motors.
Even when wearing safety equipment, there is always a chance of being involved in an accident and sustaining serious injuries. If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will help you recover monetary compensation for your injuries and other expenses.

Subaru has announced a recall for approximately four hundred 2012 Legacy and Outback vehicles, due to a potential airbag defect. The vehicles were manufactured in December 2011.
Consumer Reports indicated that the defective side curtain airbags may fail to deploy during an impact, increasing the risk of injury to drivers and passengers in an accident.
Side airbags are supposed to protect individuals involved in broadside or T-bone accidents – accidents that occur at an intersection of if a driver runs a red light or does not yield the right-of-way.
Side curtain airbags offer much-needed additional protection to an individual in a broadside accident. When they fail to deploy, the results can be catastrophic.
If you have one of these vehicles, Subaru dealers will replace them at no cost to you. If you have one of these vehicles and are injured because the airbag did not deploy, contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in automobile product liability cases. You may be entitled to compensation for your injuries, medical bills and other accident-related expenses.

A 37-year old woman died the other morning when a driver of a big-rig tractor trailer, for unknown reasons, collided with the mountainside as he approached a curve in the road, causing the trailer’s gravel box to separate from the trailer frame. The box came to a stop on the opposite side of the road, hitting an SUV driven by the 37-year old woman.
The big-rig driver was not injured; however, the woman in the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries. Her 16-year old daughter, who was a passenger in the SUV, was injured and taken to another hospital for treatment.
California Highway Patrol officials are investigating the accident to determine the cause.
They are checking a number of possible causes which include speeding, road conditions, falling asleep at the wheel or just plain negligence on his part.
It would be wise for the family of the victim to contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney regarding her legal rights and the possibility of filing a wrongful death lawsuit.

Southern California is not used to snowy weather. However, motorists near Joshua Tree National Park can say otherwise. A heavy snowstorm hit the area last week and closed some of the roads – they are now open again. The storm left about a foot of snow near the park; roads were closed while city crews plowed the roads clean.
The best advice for driving in snowy weather is not to drive at all unless absolutely necessary. It is best to remain indoors until snow plows and trucks filled with sand have had a chance to make the roads drivable again.
Most Californians do not have to worry about driving in the snow – unless of course they live in the mountain areas. These hazardous conditions can lead to life-threatening injuries.
If you are injured by another person while driving in snow or ice, or any other kind of accident, contact an experienced San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who will listen to your concerns, investigate the circumstances, and explain your legal rights while fighting to get the compensation you deserve for your injuries.

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for more than 500 2012 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles because of faulty welds in the head restraint support brackets for the second-row right-hand seats.
According to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #22, the defect is a violation and must be repaired or replaced. The defect could result in the head restraint failing to provide adequate support in the event of a crash. Standard #22 reads, “Proper head restraints must limit rearward displacement of a seated occupant’s head relative to the occupant’s torso and reduce the frequency and severity of neck injuries in rear-end and other collisions.” The defect increases the risk of serious injuries, including traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
If you or a family member has been seriously injured due to a defect in your vehicle, I would suggest you contact a San Bernardino Personal Injury attorney who has experience in defending product liability cases against automakers.
